A little trickle from my stream of consciousness for this week's Sunday Scribblings prompt, "Skin."
Soft and tender
calloused, rough
scraped, scarred,
bruised
tough
Touched, caressed,
massaged, oiled,
stroked
healed
Colorized,
sanitized
deodorized
Shaved, showered
powdered
Fresh or stretched
wrinkled or plump
hickey-ed
pierced
tattooed
or not
Tickled
goosebumped
pimpled, freckled
covered with
measles spots
blushed, flushed
fevered or chilled
Brown, black
Pale white
peach or blue
pink or gray
or black and blue
or even green -
Covered or
bare
Thick or
thin,
Whatever you do
wherever you go
it goes with you
so you might
as well be
comfortable
in your own
damn
skin...
See Sunday Scribblings to read about other people's Skin.
For those of you keeping score, my word count for the year of Writing the Damn Book: same as last Sunday. So I'm submitting my Sunday Scribblings early. I put up a couple of other quick posts before this, too - my Favorite Things Saturday entry and a post before that about my journal; if you didn't read those on Friday night and feel so inclined, you can click on them from my most recent posts list on the main page. After I attend a funeral and then go to a birthday party on Saturday (weird combo for my Saturday, eh?), I'm - finally - going to spend the rest of the weekend concentrating on writing the damn book!
Have a great weekend and I'll try to catch up on everyone else's posts on Monday...if you catch me wandering around Blogland, feel free to re-direct me back to the damn book!

OMG that is a really kewl, unusual, fascinating, amazing picture. Who would have thought of something like that...except the Tink. It's great. It's wonderful! It's feminine! It's magazine cover material. Get busy on that damn book!!!

IT'S THAT DAMN BOOK COVER MATERIAL! TOUCHING THE CORE, BY TINKER

Judie, I have to admit I tore this out of a magazine and just manipulated it in my photo program to make the heart around it (blush). OK - I know I should be writing the damn book...

This stream of conciousness says something rather complimentary about the water's source, I'd have to say. If that sentence actually makes sense. Anyway, nice one!

The 'chick is pretty sure that she would not have been able to come up with so many words to describe skin. . .impressive!

Getting ready to call it a night (even though it's morning), and popped in to say "Hi" and "Thank you!" for all the delightful comments.
Last Sunday's count: 1,253
As of right now: 2,144
Got more to add when I wake up. I'll fill you in Monday. Have a good Sunday, scribbling or skinnydipping or whatever :-)
G'night!

Excellent poem, Terri. When you think about what we put our skin through, it´s a wonder it survives all those manipulations! xo

I enjoyed your stream and your photo manipulation, but you'll never know that because you're too busy working on the book, right?

You are wonderfully talented, Tinker...where do you get the time to do all the wonderful things you do?
