Love the beads Tinker. They're great! This is such an awesome idea Janet had!

Janet

Tinker, that is such a beautiful bracelet and a wonderful idea. See, no one cares if you don't sew! I'm honored that you dedicated it to me. Thank you. (Can't type much more "cause I've got tears in my eyes.)

Tinker...this is beautiful. I just love that the beads you used for this are so meaningful. What a precious gift for a battered woman. Thank you for being the first to blaze this trail...you rock!
Janet's "spread the love" is fantastic. Many will donate to needy causes because of her idea. YES!

I think the bracelet and beautiful and a card with the symbolism is not too lecture-y at all. It's something the wearer can read again and again.
I think Janet is amazing and wonderful and her heart is in exactly the right place! I think I am going to make the comfort dolls and maybe something else. I'm glad you explained about necklaces and earrings for those who may have thought of doing that.
I see the love spreading already!
XOXOXO

Tink! I love LOVE the comfort bracelets, and your rationale for using elastic...smart lady. Yes abuse cycles take awhile to break, I can only imagine.
I agree that giving women something beautiful to call their own, and that it's association with something positive like moving on with your life...would be greatly appreciated by them. A symbol almost of their fresh start, their strength.
I love the purple beads, they are gorgeous. Janet will be proud of this one!!!

i love your beaded bracelet - I am sure it will bring comfort to who it is sent to. When I was little, I lived in an abusive household - there weren't shelters and such so we had to live through it.. to have a comfort doll to hold at night would have helped my fears and sadness I am sure...
purple is the pefect colour - a colour of healing xoxo

What a great idea. I love the colors you used. What talent you have for such a good cause.

It's a lovely idea. I had COMPLETELY forgotten this, but one Xmas when I lived in S.F., a friend and I spent our Xmas morning at a women's shelter, delivering gifts. It was a VERY gratifying experience. There are so many wonderful causes...and all too often those right under our noses get forgotten.

Oh Tinker my heart bursts with gladness what an awesome way to give back to these women who have suffered so much, as an woman who has lived and survived this i know this gesture of goodwill , will go far and the benefits will far outreach farther than you can ever comprehend.

You put lots of wonderful thought into what these women need. I think some words like, "you matter" or "you deserve the best" helps too! So many women do return to their abuser, probably many times because they can't imagine trying to stay afloat on their own. Women need to hear words of encouragement to stay strong. They need to know and believe they are worthy. That’s why this project is so incredible. I love your bracelet it's just perfect. Care for these women is imperative, something so lacking in their lives too!

Insightful loving post Tinker!
