Hello! I can hardly believe it is almost the end of August. Where has the summer gone? To gardening and picnicking (is that a word? It should be...). Feeding leftover bread crumbs to the ducks at the park. Feeding us - afternoon movie popcorn, watermelon, homemade popsicles.
The girls were here, quite often this summer. Also, the old modem died. this summer. A slow, lingering death. Sometime in July, I think.
By the time the new modem arrived and the grandgirls started back to school, I seemed to have fallen out of the internet habit. I'd grown used to just peeking in on FB, when I could. It's been days and days since the new modem kicked into gear. so I don't know why it's taken me so long to get the nerve up to open up the doors here - but thank you to those who sent me wake-up calls. Hello! Yes, I am still alive!
But finally. here I am.

And so are the sunflowers. They always remind me of sleepy little children, yawning and rubbing their eyes, as they slowly stretch out.
So, anywho...now that I've broken the ice, maybe the next time will be easier. I do have things I've wanted to share. Like the bonnet-making spree, I've been on - oh! and the magic beans that are growing up in the teepee village, that I haven't told you about, either. And good gravy - I started to tell you - months ago, but never did finish -- about the marshmallow mermaid pie-baking contest. I really need to show that before summer is completely over, because it would taste even better in the summertime.
Okay. I'm back. Hope you're still around....
Hmm...some of the photos are just saying 'view this photo.' Have things changed on Typepad? Or maybe it's just me. Not sure I remember how to operate this thing...
