We've been going to this location for burgers for years. It's got a major 50's nostalgic ambience and good fast food.
At the time I dropped in, they were out of to-go menu's, so here are my quick notes on some of what's available (remember, prices and availability can change. These are my experiences - not the owner's advertising!)
Burgers (with lettuce, tomato, pickles and 1000 Island dressing) $2.90
Cheeseburgers $3.30
Bacon Cheeseburger $3.90
Pattymelt $3.90
Gardenburger $3.70
There are turkey burgers and chickenburgers available, too.
Fries and onion rings are available (my husband loves the onion rings).
Also, kid-sized combos that come in a cool little cardboard vintage car. (There's a comic book store next door called Comic Quest - I'm passing this on, in case you or your kids are comic book fans - I've only shopped there once or twice, though I know people who do shop there regularly, and say they like it).
Of course, since Betty's is a fifties-style burger place, they have shakes, malts, and coke floats.
This is the best part - a real, working put-a-quarter-in-the-jukebox!
And working mini-jukeboxes on several of the tables, too!
They're open from 11am to 7 pm M-Sat, but are open till 8:30 pm on Thursdays for the local Market night. Sundays, 11:30 to 3 pm.
Famous Betty's Hamburgers is at 26 East
State Street in Redlands, CA, just off of Orange Street (just a few blocks from the downtown Redlands exit of the I10 freeway). During the local Route 66 rallies (usually in September - I'll try to post the dates here when I find out), there will be a vintage car show right on State Street. What better place to celebrate the Route than at Betty's? But don't wait for Route 66 to eat there - Betty's is open everyday!
Ok, time to cruise on down the highway to more points of interest in the Inland Empire!
Which way should the arrowhead point towards next? Highland; San Bernardino; Rialto; Fontana; Riverside; Oak Glen; Apple Valley; Cherry Valley...I know - I'll play "spin the arrowhead" on the map and see where we land next!
2013 Update: Betty's has changed ownership since this post was written and after a time of maintaining the good ol' days there, they've decided to change things up. The location is now an Asian-themed restaurant.
