Stafford's, 1991 Mentone Boulevard, Mentone, CA.
(909) 794-5452. (heading east, just 2 blocks north of the I10 freeway, Lugonia Avenue, in Redlands, eventually becomes Mentone Blvd/Highway 38).

As you're heading east towards Stafford's, on the right hand (south) side of Mentone Blvd., another local landmark business is the Mill Creek Cattle Co. Restaurant. I've heard the food is good - though I wouldn't recommend the bath :)
Locally, Mentone is well-known for it's sense of humor.
If you're in the mood to sightsee, there's another big chicken (and his friends!) to be seen from Mentone Blvd/Highway 38, just about a mile further east, down the road from Stafford's. As you're heading east, Mentone Blvd will become Mill Creek Road, just as you see the "world famous jerky" sign,
look immediately to your left, for extreme lawn ornamentation.
If you continue on up the "chicken's street," you can sightsee through the orange groves, and eventually the winding road will
take you to this historic bridge (built in 1912),
that crosses the beginning of the Santa Ana River (use caution - the bridge is very narrow).
After crossing the bridge, the road becomes Greenspot Road, which turns into Fifth Street (part of good ol' Route 66), as it heads back from Highland into San Bernardino.
Ending our tour of scenic Mentone Beach!
Hi, so glad you got this site up and running. I wish I could visit the Frugal Frigate, but I've just toured Sylvan Park with you and had a nice rest in the sun reading a few pages of 'The Time Traveler's Wife.' Like the look of the Feed Store and could do with a coke float now from the cafe.
Even though I live in England, this is really interesting, it's lovely getting to know the area where your blogging friends live. Love how the the growth or colour of soil makes a giant arrowhead on the hill side. Be back to read more when you have posted some more in a few days. Love xx
