For those of you linking up from Violette's Folk Art, there are some clearer photos & the how-to make this tiara on my Tiara Tinkering post - just click on "Main" here at the top to check them out! December 11th is the due date for Violette's Tiara Challenge - I'm still trying to get the hang of this digital camera thingy - Yes! finally a digital camera has arrived in my life! Now all I have to do is figure out what all these really teeny tiny buttons & icons are, so I can take a picture that doesn't look like the photographer's been dipping into the eggnog - or dipping the camera into the eggnog (I don't know why I'm obsessing on eggnog - except perhaps all the fiddle-dee-deeing around with this itty bitty nanotechnology is driving me to drink!)
Anyway, the model wearing my tiara was losing patience with the photoshoot & refused any further stylistic primping on the artist's part, hence the tiara's 2 leaves on the model's left (your right) have slid on top of one another - but you get the general idea! Although this next picture is washed out by the flash, I think you can actually see the tiara a little better - well, definitely better than you can the model!
In case you're wondering about the "nun" reference, my tiara model had a starring role this weekend in her college's production of Christopher Durang's "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You" - it was definitely a different experience seeing her as a nun! Though the play's pretty irreverent (but also fairly funny - sort of an extended SNL skit), I was really proud of her; I don't think I could have ever memorized all the lines she had (she was on-stage for an hour straight, with the vast majority of the lines being hers & had to sing a couple of short solos, to boot!)
Review Overheard in the Ladies Room: "Wow! That was a lot to memorize; that nun was really good!" Ok, that's enough bragging on my kid, I mean model!
That's pretty. I love the thought of wearing a tiara all day. What fun !
