Since yesterday's tiara photo shoot didn't come out quite as planned, we tried again today with a new model. Click on the thumbnail photos to view them full-size!
Although the pictures still aren't quite as crystal clear as I'd like, I must say this model was much more cooperative (if not quite as lively or attractive as yesterday's model!)
Although I described my Tinker Tiara on the ol' blog place, I'll give a quick run down for those of you just now tuning in...Using 18 gauge wire, I strung (why does that word look so wrong suddenly? strung/strang/stringed! Pick one, you know what I mean, right?) varying shades of green, amber, & gold glass & stone beads, bending the wire into a headwreath shape & wrapping the two ends back around each other to close it. The upper center of the tiara has a little green stone bird dangling from a wire (I hope if you click on the photo to enlarge it, you should be able to see it), and two other wires are suspended downward on either side of it, with a little crystal bead on them, ending in little spirals. Coming up at the center of the crown is another larger spiral. The dangling glass leaves were a last minute addition; I strung them on a beaded sunglasses holder that had broken at one end, & wrapped it around the front of the tiara....The tiara really came together quickly - I did it while listening to TV in one evening, back when Violette first issued the tiara challenge. The part that's taken the longest (& caused the most frustration) is trying to get a decent photo of it posted!
Check out Violette's Folk Art site for more of the tiara challengers! Violette made one at a tiara workshop using soldering techniques, & included little photos of herself & family members. I can't wait to see everyone else's personal twists on this idea. My tiara's inspiration was - Garden Goddess (if my flowers could talk like the ones Alice found through the Looking Glass, they'd tell you I'm more like "that Lazy Garden Wench that forgets to weed & water us!") Try a tiara on - every woman deserves to be Queen for a day, at least at her own castle! Or make one for the princesses in your life - what girl wouldn't love a tiara for Christmas?
I should just keep a tiara in my car to remind others that I am the Queen of the Road and they should respect that...
I just love being a Princess!

Thanks - I'm the 40-something blondish one with the part down the middle - usually found hiding in a corner (or under a rock!) lol
