In AW, we're reminded to protect "the artist child within," from criticism; that this artist child must first learn to crawl, then walk, before running, with lots of falls along the way. In other words, we're going to have to take a chance and actually TRY creating in our chosen artform - there will be a lot of paintings we wouldn't use as shelf-paper; songs out of tune; burnt cookies; or three-armed sweaters knitted! And we can't let our inner critic stop us when we hit those clinkers, anymore than a baby just learning to walk should stop trying when they fall down.
You fall down, you get up and try again. And again you fall. But you try again. Then one day, you try, and what do you know? That turned out pretty good! Just keep hanging in there...keep on, keeping on, no matter what. Doing what you enjoy, just because it's fun! The Big Kids do it - you can, too! They had to start out the same way - one step at a time. Someday, you'll be "outstanding in your field!" Thanks for the reminder, Julia!
Great post! And I love the photos. :)

The AW challenge...me, too.
I am not excited about the Morning Pages, though I am doing them.
