Dreams Do Come True

Since this week's Illustration Friday prompt is 'portrait' and I've been forcefeeding you images of me, Me, Me! every day with the 101 self-portrait challenge, you would think I'd be all over the IF prompt.  But au contraire! - not only because I am contrary by nature, but also because I want to show you the beauty that arrived in the mail from the generous and creative Melba.  Want to open it with me?

Here it is just coming out of the envelope (that she embellished with her sweet pink flowers) all wrapped in pretty pink tissue.

Melba had said she still had a couple of magnets left and I told her I'd love one and I get three. Including one for Mixed Media Memoirs.  I feel so lucky! I'm overwhelmed once again by her creativity and generous spirit -

Melba's a living inspiration - with the help of a group of other creative women bloggers, she's making her dream true - of a women's creative conference; bringing women from all over the blogosphere, to Just Be together. I'm still trying to figure out how I can 'just be' one of them!  If it's meant to be,  then I'll find a way.

Some more 'make-your-dreams-come-true' inspiration is happening over on Believe Street: Maria's started a new blog for her handmade jewelry live.love.sparkle  - and she's going to have a drawing of sorts for one of  her jewelry sets to benefit her sister's dog rescue program. Her jewelry is gorgeous and it benefits fellow creatures in need. A win-win situation!

Now if I could just settle on one dream, perhaps I could make it come true, too. But right now I'm feeling a little too scattered. I'm distracted and floating; my friend in intensive care is still needing to find an island on the horizon...and I'm hoping she can continue treading water till one appears.

Right now, just being alive feels like a dream come true. Though I still have so many dreams I want to bring to life! The trick is to focus on them one at a time, I think...and just believe, of course.
