It's time for Favorite Things Saturday and I don't even have half of what I wanted to show you done...but I'll give you a peek at the current crazy tinkering in progress - painting my shoes. Well, technically, at this point it's just drawing on them with fabric markers, which I intend to go back over with paint, at some point. If I don't end up throwing them in the Goodwill bag! But I'm having fun with it.
I used to get in trouble as a kid for drawing on my shoes (my books, my pillow, the wall, you name it - I was in trouble for drawing on it!) so it gives me a giddy little rush to get away with doing this now.
Here's the before pic - the blank canvas:
Here's the work-in-progress:
Of course, I'm not the only one getting away with this stuff - Kai's even done it for her friend (scroll down to her June 7th post to see). If you're interested in how-to's, check this out .
They may not be chic - but they will be unique. At least I won't have to worry about losing them at the beach!'
It's never too late to have a happy childhood...
What fun - your shoes are looking like they'll take you to magical places.
