Part one of this week's completely optional Poetry Thursday prompt is about bringing poetry into your everyday world, or words/phrases you use everyday. Here's what came to me today:
My Things to Do List
The things I find myself saying:
The thing of it is - well
Here's the thing:
I want to do everything;
Only thing is -
Nothing sounds good
Too many things.
What is this thing?
That thing-a-ma-jig...
Either it's this thing or
that thing - Yes,
That's the thing!
Just one more thing -
Let's do something,
Anything!No wonder, nothing
ever gets done
around here!- tinker
Sorry, I didn't have the energy in this heat to make you some original art to go with this. Maybe I'll do something later :) I wish I could credit the artist, but can't seem to find a name on it. Anonymous artists of the world - put your name on your art!
It seems appropriate somehow for the way I feel today. Everything needs doing; doing nothing sounds good - but I want to do something - anything.
I need more hands to do it all!
Wouldn't that be handy?
Then I'd get everything done, on my "Things to Do" list, in no time!
Oh - Part two of this Poetry Thursday's prompt is to bring poetry into your everyday life. One of the ways to do this is by reading or posting poetry in your everyday world. Though I haven't done it yet - go check out Marilyn's Poem Road, to see what I'd like to do. If it will ever cool down enough, I hope to get my act together and take it on the road. Road trip! Now that's something that sounds good - provided there's air conditioning!
hello Tink! Your poetry and the picture were perfectly paired! Pam Ram Rhyme head!

Hi, Tink...caught up on your last three posts and loved every one of them. The sketches for Summer Survival are right on and I can just picture you doing them! Love, Your Cookie

Lovely poem - says so much about summer and lots of choices and too little time - or maybe it's so hot you just don't want to do anything! That's the way it is in Paris at the moment. Too hot to think, much less go anywhere fun.

So appropriate for our busy summer lives, I'd love more hands. LOL
