I finished Patry's book! Ok, if you're talking to me, I can hear you now, lol. It (the book) IS good, too. Since it's a mystery, that's all I dare say, because I'm too afraid I'll give it away...the synopsis is on the book link above though, if you want to know about the plot.
So what have I been doing since I finished the book early this morning. Well, I seem to have pajamas and gypsies on my mind today. Speaking of which, wouldn't the Gypsy Pajamas be a great name for a band? Or the Pajama Gypsies? Ok, maybe not....
Since K. and B. were both at work today, I had the house to myself, and painted in my pj's all day, while listening to my Gypsy Caravan cd, and some of K.'s flamenco guitar cds - not surprisingly, I'm on a kick of painting gypsies right now - just little watercolors, they're still damp, but maybe I'll show them to you tomorrow when they're dry. When the family got home, I was still in my jammies, my hands covered in a rainbow of Twinkling H20 colors. I can never seem to paint without wearing at least a little of it. Fortunately, I didn't get any on my pj's, as they're my current favorite pair - the ones with popcorn and soda bottles and movie tickets on them. Nothing but the finest in lounging wear for me :). We ate Portugese beans and rice for dinner, which somehow (at least in my mind), fit in with my idea of gypsy food. Though they probably don't buy theirs in a jar from Trader Joe's, but maybe they should, 'cause it's faster and they'd have more time for dancing, though who am I to tell them what to do with their time - they're Gypsies and they should be free to do as they please. Maybe they don't even like Portugese beans. But if they do, it is a timesaver; I'm just sayin', that's all.
Ok, back to the pj theme - I got an e-mail from Gemma a little while ago, mentioning working from home in pj's - yeah, Gemma! Way to go! Woo-hoo! So I had an idea - why not have a pajama party? You know, a virtual one?
So in celebration of jobs where you work in your jammies (which makes me think of that radio commercial I hear nearly every night, where Tory says "I make six figures working in my pajamas" - I have no idea what Tory actually does to make 6 figures in her pj's, because I always tune out the commercial after that, as I drift into my own daydream of making six figures working in my pajamas) and maybe also, just because I'm still in my pj's today, I thought it might be fun to have a pajama party. Wanna join in? Put on your pj's and kick back. Photos are optional - but more fun. Can you just imagine if everyone put their pj pics on the Internet at once? I think it would be hysterical. Or just show what snacks you'd want at a slumber party - or games or movies. I hope someone will join me - but even if no one else joins in, I'll still be here in my comfy slippers and my flannel jammies, even though I'm not making 6 figures in them, as of yet - but if I hear that commercial again, maybe I'll hear how she does it, this time.
Oh, sorry! Some hostess I am - would you like a snack? Here, have some Pirate's Booty, I'm warning you though, this white cheddar popcorn stuff is really addictive. Or I have regular buttered popcorn if you'd rather. There's some soda in the fridge if you want some - Pepsi or diet Pepsi; I think there's a bottle of wine in there, too. Did anybody bring any chocolate? Hnnm, let me see what I have on hand...While I'm trying to find us some in the kitchen, why don't you go put on something more comfortable, like your pj's? Somebody, put on some music - what do you guys wanna hear? Or a movie - should we watch a movie? Or you wanna play cards? I'm fine with whatever everyone wants. Kick back - make yourselves at home... ;-)
No 'bras in the freezer' tricks though, you guys - um, the freezer's pretty full right now as it is...
I always work in my pajama's too Tink!! I swear the only time mom and I get dressed is when we are going to town or know someone is coming, LOL!! Anyway, I'm here for the party!!

I've always loved working from home even when I was being an artist. For the very reason that I could hop up, be productive and by noon still be in my pjs. I even own some that match now!
I'll bring wine to share and some feta and crackers (odd - but fits my current eating schedule) to nibble on myself.
Let's watch Something to Talk About or I"ll 2nd Chocolat...and maybe everyone can bring a little packaged something for a "pick one to take home" as a way to remember our grand night!

Don't I now feel silly for getting dressed this morning. :-(

My poor fleece robe with the scotty dogs has so many things mod podged to it. lol No matter what kind of pjs I have on, this robe is an every day thing. It's like my Linus blanket.
I often do my work-from-home jobs in my pjs because I'm trying to do them before people are up or after they've gone to bed.
Fun, fun post.

Huh! I finally showered and dressed - after 3 pm, having spent the entire morning and early afternoon at the computer typing notes for a class I start this week - in my glittery blue tartan pj's and purple velvet dressing-gown. I'm also sorry I didn't share my snack of oatcakes, cheddar cheese and apple slices. Next time, I will! Movie? Steel Magnolias, anybody?
