If I were Queen of the World, my first act would be oh, this is a tough prompt this week - I usually try not read other Sunday Scribblings first before I write mine, but I've accidentally seen some that have done so much with it already, some of mine might seem silly, and I don't have much time, but I'll try to add a little more - hmm, let's see...
Would it be, to end all wars immediately? Yes, that would be my first Royal Decree, I think...any disputes between countries, thereafter, would have to be decided by personal competition between the leaders of the respectives countries. A triatholon? Arm wrestling? Or a chess match...or maybe just Parcheesi, best two out of three. That ought to stop them from trying to foment a violent melee...
But that would be just the first decree...I'm sure there'd be several decrees issued forth...
No child, no one at all, really - would go to bed hungry or cold, ever again...
Each person would be issued a daily ration of chocolate...um, we'd have to come up with an alternative for those who are allergic or don't like it - maybe jelly beans...
Children wouldn't work in factories, or wouldn't have to work anywhere till they're teenagers, except to do their schoolwork and their own chores...
Everyone that wanted one, would have a home of some kind...there would be hostels and camping grounds available for those who would rather have that kind of home...
Transportation would change - there would be bikes for quick rentals; metal cars would be phased out for air-powered, waterproof Nerf cars - that way if anyone collided, they'd just bounce off to the side...they'd run better, too, and wouldn't break down all the time...
Firefighters, safety workers, EMTs, doctors, nurses - all the health care professionals, and the teachers, artists, writers, the farmers of small farms -- they would all be as revered, and well paid, as movie stars are now. They'd be the ones featured on the covers of 'People,' and 'Time'. They'd be the ones living the lifestyles of the rich and famous...
Everyone would have clean, clear water to drink and swim in..
No one would kill dolphins, whales, elephants or rhinos, etc for dumb reasons - not any of the animals we would want to still see tomorrow - too many to list here, right now....
No more cutting down all the rainforests, either...
All food would be inspected and tested, guaranteed to be as healthy and safe as it can be...
Did I mention the daily chocolate rations? I think I did - everyone that wants some will have some...
All loud power equipment, especially power saws, lawn mowers and leaf blowers, would be solar powered, and have mufflers or silencers...
Siesta-time wouldn't be just for Spain, anymore. Workplaces could stagger the times, to work out best, of course - especially for those who snore...but cookies and naptimes would become de riguer...
Reading would be rewarded, especially reading to children. Your library card would earn you bonus points for reading, that could be used for discount savings and travel bonuses, galore...
There would be one day of the year - all around the world - where everyone, everywhere, celebrated -- giving thanks for the planet, all at once - there'd be parades, feasting, laughing, singing and dancing...
The next day, everyone that needed to, would be allowed to sleep in...
I'm sure I could think of some more, if I just had a little more time, but these would be good for a start, I think...
~
Visit this week's Sunday Scribblings to find other royal decrees.
OK - I gotta run - not sure if I'll be able to be around for a day or two, so I'll see you on Wednesday, if not before then...
(In case you're wondering, this is a tiara I made for Violette's tiara challenge a couple of years ago)
Have a great week.
I'd live in your country if you were Queen!

I don't guess Queen's get voted in - they just are - but you have my vote! esp about the library card and bonus points and reading to children thing - actually, I think that's a great real world idea with tons of potential and if I weren't focused on my art right now, I'd steal it, find some travel agency partners, and work it for all it's worth. An amazing idea!

Tink, My geography is poor, but I am concerned... are you in the area affected by the fires? My prayers are going out to all those affected, and I'm hoping that all is well with you and your family.
