It seems I've only been participating in IF, every once in a blue moon. The way things have been going lately, it may seem like a miracle when I even get around to posting anything here...
Tonight may not be a blue moon, but it is a full one - and one with a lunar eclipse, for good measure. Now, if only we could miraculously have clear skies, so we can see it playing hide and seek with the sun, up there...
This week's IF theme is 'Theory.'
There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is a miracle.
Albert Einstein
This may not be as well-known or as scientific as some of Einstein's other theories - actually, it may not even be his theory at all, since it seems to be unattributed - but I've always liked this "quote." Even if Einstein never actually said it, I think it seems like something he very well might have said - at least, theoretically.
Note to self: Need to work on lettering, it's not like its rocket science - also, they need a pillow or a teddy bear on the carpet - hmm, definitely a teddy bear, I think...to dance by the light of the moon...
dream sweet dreams...
expect miracles...
That's my theory for today, anyway.
This is sublime -- gently magical, and such a perfect actualization of your chosen quote. Wow. All the innocent absolutes of childhood return, looking at this -- like dancing, dreaming, and READING by the light of the moon on a magic carpet. Truly good stuff.

How wonderful it would be to check the heavens on a magic carpet.
Your drawing is beautiful and a teddy sounds like a perfect addition.

Oh magical indeed!
Beautiful picture.
The eclipse was clouded out here - at least when I looked in the early hours (it was at full coverage at 3.30am our time) so I didn't see it.
Did you have better luck?

What a delightful drawing. I also like the Einstein quote about Imagination...and I love yours.

I really like that quote, whoever said it.
Gorgeous picture, too. But you could've used a reference for your ringed planet there. :-P

I have always loved that quote as well. Your illustration is amazing, it's dreamy and detailed and immediately makes me think 'bedtime story'.
I think we should all always dance by the light of the moon. Or by the noon day sun or the first light of day or....well just dance to dance! Shall we?
XOXOXO

That's one of my favorite Einstein quotes & I have to admit that you'vve thrown me for a loop ... he didn't actually say it?!?
Fantastic image, too - love the muted colors.
Reply from Tinker: It's one of my favorite quotes, as well. From what I read on the Wikipedia page about Einstein, this particular quote, and some others that I had always read were his words, are considered 'unattributed' - so there's no way to know for certain...though perhaps there really is a source out there somewhere connecting him to it - I'd like to think there is, anyway...
