A weekend that has been busy, yet feels happy and peaceful at the same time. Friday night, drew a little in my journal, while K. played around a bit on his guitar. Later, baked blueberry muffins for snacking at the girls' soccer games Saturday morning. Cloudy during the first game, then the clouds drifted away, and it was sunny for the next...One loss, one win; though the players were philosophical. Next week, the losses and wins may be reversed - or maybe no one will win or everyone will win...who knows - let's play! After lunch, watched with amazement at how they found the energy to run and climb all over the playground, after running around playing soccer all morning...
Later, ran some errands, getting little things fixed - somehow that gives hope that bigger things will find their way to getting fixed some day too. Came home and watered our four by four foot 'farm' - farm report coming soon :) and the new little rosemary transplants on the hill.
Roasted some veggies in the oven for dinner, to make up for the fast food at lunch - though the veggies tasted better than the fast food did. Afterwards, just listened to the radio, drawing and painting with watercolors on an old telephone book page - still not feeling quite ready for 'big girl' paper again, just yet...but playing around, having a little creative fun anyway. Slowly getting back into the swing of things...
Today, differing schedules means looking forward to brunch with one set of girls - later on, dinner with another...on the bright side, that means, for me - no cooking today - and maybe a nap in between? It's good to be queen for a day :)
Sometimes the ordinary days, with their rhythm of quiet and busy, busy then quiet - really do feel like the very best ones to me.
Wishing all the moms out there (including those whose kids are four-footed and furry :), a very happy Mother's Day - just as busy or as peaceful as you'd like it to be...
or something, in between...
here - these are for you~
They remind me of my favorite days -
maybe a little busy, yet still peaceful and happy in their own way...
Happy Mother's Day. Happy Sunday.
I hope you have a wonderful mother's day!
Here in the UK Mother's Day has already long gone, sometime in March I think it was.
The roses are beautiful!

Happy Mother's Day!! The roses are gorgeous! I love the color....it's so soft and creamy. Like peaches and cream.
I hope you have a perfect day. And I think you're ready for some "real" paper. That's a great sketch on the phone book page!

Husband took over grandson so Mommy and Nana could have peaceful time. They went grocery shopping and came home and fixed a pretty grand supper. Then lots of wind and rain all night - I love the sound of wind and then rain on the bathroom skylight. Slept 12 hours! When was the last time you did that?!
Lovely post, Tinker. Gorgeous roses (I want some) - and I can't wait to hear more about the "farm" - I planted some last year seeds, if they don't come up soon I guess I'll have to start all over again (containers).
May your whole year be mother's day!
