February's pretty good, so far - it's acting more and more like spring here, everyday. January was great - busy as all get out -- but all things considered, it was a good month, as Januaries go...I think I crammed everything I could into this January, till I ran out of month, and now it's already the third of February - the shortest month of the year. Frankly, I don't know, if I couldn't fit everything I wanted to into one of the longest months, I really don't know how I'll fit everything into a month with three less days in it...but I'm willing to give it a try.
Here's some of the overflowing goodness from last month, that I kept meaning to share with you, and ran out of time to do it (as always, you can click on the little pic, to enbiggen it.).
(I know enbiggen isn't a word - but just try to roll with it ;)
There are some *fun birthday and New Year things in the picture (loving the Inktense and the tiny ATC-sized Strathmore pads, especially. In the upper left, on top of my birthday moleskine - I was so happily spoiled this past month -- you can see a quick little ATC I made using those). I love the in(k)tense color.
Also in the picture, is a very cool item that arrived just in time like a birthday surprise from the Universe. What a fun thrill it was to open up to page 92 (and, for me, page 95, especially ;) ! For someone who's more of a tinker than a tailor, I didn't know how it would turn out - but Lisa's Project Blogway was a lot of fun. I hear there's going to be a similar (yet different??) Project Blogway challenge coming again, this April...which is so intriguing! Though, much as I love to cram everything I can into a month, it may or may not work out for me. But we shall see...as my mom (and Doris) used to sing - what will be, will be...
My thanks to everyone who's been stopping by for the OWOH giveaway - and my apologies to everyone, for not having visited them, the way I'd like. I'll try to play catch-up, as I can fit in time on the computer (have I mentioned we're computer-sharing again? Computer-sharing with someone planning a wedding, is like trying to share a computer with Bill Gates or something -- maybe when they're sleeping...) Also, the last couple of days,Yahoo sent my Typepad comment notifications and a few other e-mails (including one to MYSELF) to my spam folder again - while allowing some of the not-so-lovely spam to drift into my inbox. Sigh. Working on straightening all that out, AGAIN.
Quickly - while I'm still in control of the computer -- since I've been promising to share some journal pages for the past month, for Creative Everyday, though I'm pressed for time again - so only one -- here's a quick look at just one page that seems to fit in somehow with this post. I'll try to share a few more later on - whenever I can fit them in...
The page may seem sort of angst-y to others - but it was just me working through some of the hub bub of daily life...
Which, coincidentally, is the title of another gift from last month - one that keeps on giving, this month. Lynda Barry's What It Is --- what it is, is illuminating and deLightful, btw. At least for me.
It's sort of part graphic memoir, part graphic 'how to write' instruction manual. Being written and illustrated in a sort of graphic novel style, the concepts and writing exercises seem to click with the artist part of my brain - letting the artist side and the writer side sit down and talk together - or at least have tea, if that makes sense (to anyone other than me, that is... :)
Oh well - it is, what it is...
That's about it. I'll be around later on. Ciao, for now.
*Came back to say - Doh! When I originally wrote this post, I was in such a hurry, I didn't even give proper credit where it's due - my sincere apologies! That very cool handmade artsy birthday card on the right hand side of the pic is from my artsy, awesomely talented, glitter sister friend, ArtzyArtzy Judie - the card is even more beautiful in person! And the very cool Chinese New Year packet and card is from lovely, creative glitter sister friend Kai. These were such fun surprises to find in the mailbox. Thank you so much Judie and Kai!
We are having some pretty spring-like weather here, too. I am really loving it.

Congrats on being featured in Artful Blogging! (Are you designing your daughter's wedding dress???)
And for fitting in so much too.

oooooh, a way to get the artist and the writer to sit down *together* - tea or whatever, that's got to be an amazing meeting. Now I have to go look and see if I can do the same thing (tho the writer is having fun playing over at Pictures, Poetry and Prose that Leah's art was on the other day. I think I'm hooked - don't we all just need ONE.MORE.THING.?) xo

I'd love to be at that tea party. I'm glad your birthday month was so great. You deserve it!

Diane - glad you're having nice weather again, up there!
Caroline - Thank you! No, I'm most definitely NOT designing my daughter's gown - she doesn't care for paper gowns, and that's the only kind I've designed, lol.
Tammy V - I think you'd really like the book too.
And I'm looking forward to seeing Leah's art at Pictures, Poetry and Prose - it sounds intriguing...though I'm a little hesitant as I'm not sure if I have time right now to get hooked on One More Thing, lol.
Thank you Tammy, my Warrior friend - Hearing from you always makes my day!

I'm often rather puzzled myself. Like that image.

Hi Pam! Yep - trying to create, anyway...
Thanks, Pacian. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's often puzzled...

Carmen - congratulations to you too! I'm so happy for Lisa and for all of us Project Blogway-ers!
I think we just got advance copies - I don't think the Spring issue will be out on the newsstands till the end of the month, maybe (??).
They usually carry it at Barnes&Nobles and at Borders bookstores, if you have one of those near you...
Hugs to you!

I love your puzzled page!! You are a creative dynamo!

Your puzzled page is great! And I love all your goodies in the enbiggened picture! I've been looking for the ATC blanks but haven't found them yet.

I suppose a paper gown might end up as unintentional confetti so I suppose that's wise!
I photographed this in a shop window at the end of Jan:

Everyone is doing it!

Thank you, Leah! You are a creative inspiration everyday!
Thanks, Janet! These ATC blanks are from Dick Blick - the actual store. I'm not sure, but they might have them thru their catalog or online...
You've got a good point, Caro - and even though you generally only wear a bridal gown once, you do want it to last through the wedding day, lol.
Love the shop window photo, thanks - I wonder if Project Blogway is inspiring a paper dress trend in the real world? :)

"The page may seem sort of angst-y to others - but it was just me working through some of the hub bub of daily life"..... sometimes I think this is the best way to go... working through the hubbub of daily life.. isn't that what it is all about? :) xoox
I am fine down here, the fires are south of me in Victoria.. it is much cooler today.. only in the 70's.. and a light drizzle has been falling.

It is so nice to be your neighbor on page 95 :)
I love your phrase "hub bub of daily life"...I can relate to that.

Hi Robyn - I'm so glad you're ok - praying for everyone down your way. Glad there's some cooler weather down there. Hope they get those fires out soon! xOx
Hi Mo'a! It's so nice to be your 'neighbor on page 95' too - what a great neighborhood for us to be in! Project Blogway has been so much exciting fun, hasn't it? Thanks for stopping by - it's good to see you again!

I need to come up for air. What a busy month you've had and we're not that far into it. I love the puzzled graphic... it reminds me of an antique map.
