Tinker Art: Postcard From the Edge of Autumn

You've got mail.

(Yes - you!)

Apparently it's now September and also autumn, not that you could tell around here in the land of perpetual summer (90 degrees today and triple digits predicted for tomorrow - phhht). Also my last post was titled "August," which is usually not a month included in the autumn category of the calendar.

I've been periodically trying to get a new post up here (at least once a week) ever since. Most of them started out with some form of apology, then trailled off into rambling nonsense, and none of them got finished or posted, anyway.

During a moment of late night frustration with the slow-moving internet (also, my own disorganization and procrastinating), I thought how it might be easier and maybe even a faster form of communication, if I just wrote out postcards and sent them by snail mail around the world to you all. Even though we all know that wouldn't really ever happen, because a) I don't have everyone's snail mail address or b) see disorderly, procrastinating tendencies, above, or c) enough stamps. And d) I'd probably misplace them before I ever made it to the post office (which I guess is probably really part of c (see what I mean?) - "b," come to think of it...). So I just wrote this one out in my journal, in hopes of, you know, actually ever putting up a new post again. Also, the postage is much cheaper this way, what with making it yourself and hand-cancelling it.

Anyway, here's your mail:

Dear Internet Friends, How have you been? Hope you are well! Sorry it's been so long since I've written. Life has been busy (and also a little wacky). Sometimes in ways that make me laugh, and sometimes, not so much. Don't worry, nothing major, just life - you know?

K is doing much better, but another family member needs my help doing things for the moment, so I haven't had as much time for blogging or creating, which is driving me a little buggy. _{(ed: major digression, here:)}. When I was a kid, I thought a lime green beetle would be the coolest car - ever! Now I think a red or yellow bug, would be. Lately my creative outlet has mostly been crocheting or cooking. Crocheting, because it's easy to take with me - cooking, because we like to eat. Fortunately, I'm better at the cooking than the crocheting, but it's still fun. There's more I want to show and tell about, like morning glories, li'l pumpkins on the vine and a grandbaby on the way soon, but I'm running out of room here, so I guess I'll just have to write more often (and draw more often too, since I still can't take photos yet). I miss my camera. I miss blogging. Miss you. Can't wait to hear from you.

Miss you, too....I haven't been around Blogland much at all lately. I had to take a little bloggy break to save my sanity! I'm in an art slump.
