As promised, here are my daily drawings from the Sketchbook Skool a Drawing a Day prompts, for January - from my computer, since I still haven't mastered that whole posting from my phone bit, yet.
Although I love looking at all 31 days of the month when I open to the page, the layout does have it drawbacks (drawbacks - ha! pun unintended).
For starters, I apparently can't resist adding details and think I still have the eyesight that I had years ago when I would make and sell tiny miniatures and ornaments, despite the fact that decades continue to roll around...next month I need to either make bigger pictures or get better glasses. Or maybe both...?
Also, returning repeatedly to work on the same page layout throughout the month, left the pages a bit dog earred and there are tiny perforations in this journal that I had to reinforce from the back, as the pages started to separate. Oops, again...
On the detail bit, I actually got so obsessive, I created tiny little pieces that I collaged onto four of the pictures (two on each of the pages). Can you guess (or maybe even see, if you have younger eyes than me), which ones they are?
Still, despite the drawbacks of this layout, I love how all the little squares look together, sort of like a crazy quilt.
I just think I might want to give myself a little more room, next month, because apparently I can't resist details. Sometimes you just have to accept who you are, embrace the quirks that make you, you - and find a way to make them work for you!
